Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS), a key entity under South Africa’s Department of Transport, is inviting applications for Trainee Engineering Technicians and Engineering Technicians at multiple sites across the country. - Trainee Engineering Technician – King Shaka International Airport (FALE)
- Trainee Engineering Technician – Gqeberha (FAPE)
- Trainee Engineering Technician – East London (FAEL)
Key Responsibilities (Trainee and Technician Roles)
- Maintain and support Communications, Navigations, and Surveillance (CNS) systems
- Conduct fault diagnosis and restore services to operational status
- Assist with performance analysis, system audits, and compliance to ICAO and SACAA standards
- Compile technical reports and perform site-level maintenance
- Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Minimum Requirements
Trainee Engineering Technician:
- S4 National Diploma in Light Current Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- Completion of a Technical Learnership at ATNS Aviation Training Academy is advantageous
- Code 8 Driver’s License (required)
- ACSA AVOP certification (preferred)
Engineering Technician:
- BEng Tech or S4 National Diploma in Light Current Electronic Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in CNS ATM equipment maintenance
- Code 8 Driver’s License (required)
- ACSA AVOP certification (preferred)
