About the Opportunity

This is more than just an entry-level role — it’s the beginning of a fully-fledged career as a Qualified Vehicle Technician. As part of the Rola Group, one of South Africa’s most respected motor retail groups, you’ll be trained, mentored, and developed within a professional dealership environment. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians, attend prescribed training programmes, and build the foundation needed to become a certified automotive professional.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Automotive Apprentice, your day-to-day responsibilities will include assisting qualified technicians with vehicle servicing and repairs, learning how to accurately clock times on jobs, and ensuring you fully understand Repair Order Instructions before any work begins. You’ll also learn how to plan jobs effectively — including identifying parts that need to be ordered — and attend all prescribed training as part of your formal apprenticeship journey.

This is a hands-on, learn-as-you-go role where no two days are the same. From routine services to more complex repairs, you’ll be exposed to the full scope of what it takes to keep Volkswagen vehicles performing at their best.

What Rola Is Looking For

The ideal candidate is young, vibrant, and genuinely eager to learn. You don’t need experience — but you do need the right attitude and academic foundation. Minimum requirements include a Grade 12 / National Certificate with Mathematics and Science as subjects. Having Automotive as a subject will be a strong advantage.

Beyond academics, Rola is looking for someone with strong technical curiosity, a passion for motor vehicles, good timekeeping, the ability to work under pressure, and solid verbal communication skills. Please note that most training is offered in English.

⚠️ Important: Applicants must reside in Vredenburg or the surrounding areas. Relocation is not offered for this position.
