City of Johannesburg Hiring EPWP: Assistant Technical Coordinators – Economic Development.

The position is within the Department of Economic Development, under the Branch of Economic Development Facilitation, with the designation of EPWP: Assistant Technical Coordinators. The successful candidates will be based at 66 Jorissen Street, Jorissen Place, Braamfontein, and will receive a salary within the range of R295,963.66 to R408,550.08 per annum.

Applicants are required to meet the minimum criteria for consideration. These include holding a National Diploma or any tertiary qualification related to Civil Engineering Planning, possessing at least two years of relevant work experience, being a South African citizen, and residing within the jurisdiction of the City of Johannesburg.

The primary function of this role is to provide support services in technical planning and development initiatives, particularly in ensuring spaza shop compliance. Successful candidates will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of planning strategies, facilitating development programmes, and contributing to technical projects in line with departmental objectives.

Key performance areas include delivering technical support for economic development projects, coordinating compliance-related activities, and assisting in the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of project progress. The role will also involve liaising with relevant stakeholders, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to the improvement of service delivery in targeted communities.

The position requires strong leading competencies such as proficiency in computer literacy and Microsoft Office applications, as well as excellent communication skills. Core competencies include adherence to the Batho Pele Principles and a commitment to ethical conduct in all professional dealings.
