The Department of Employment and Labour invites applications from qualified, experienced, and committed individuals to apply for the position of Maintenance Officer (Electrical) at the Compensation Fund in Pretoria. Minimum Requirements:

  • A three-year qualification (NQF Level 6) in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least one (1) year functional experience in an electrical maintenance environment.

Knowledge and Competencies:

  • Understanding of the Compensation Fund’s strategic goals and value chain.
  • Thorough knowledge of public service policies, the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS), and relevant OHS Regulations.
  • Familiarity with COIDA, Public Service Regulations, the Public Service Act, the National Environmental Management Act, and National Treasury Regulations.
  • Technical proficiency in building and engineering-related electrical systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong decision-making, planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Project or programme management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute scheduled preventative electrical maintenance tasks as outlined in the maintenance plan.
  • Conduct assessments and implement unplanned repairs and maintenance as necessary.
  • Monitor and assess the performance and compliance of electrical contractors.
  • Complete and manage relevant administrative tasks for the maintenance section.
