About the Role
As an Electrician, you will be at the heart of the manufacturing operation — ensuring maximum equipment uptime through proactive preventive maintenance, swift fault response, and rigorous adherence to electrical safety and compliance standards. You will work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maintain a safe, efficient working environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will diagnose and resolve electrical faults across tube mill machines, including forming, welding, sizing, and cut-off equipment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include repairing 3-phase motors and control wiring, performing scheduled maintenance on Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), PLC panels, transformers, and power distribution systems. You will also install and wire conduit, cable trays, control panels, motor starters, relays, overloads, and safety systems to industry standards.
A key part of the role involves maintaining and troubleshooting PLC systems, HMI operator screens, and industrial sensors, as well as configuring AC/DC drives and soft starters for optimal motor performance. You will conduct routine inspections of electrical panels and breakers, maintain accurate maintenance records, identify root causes of recurring faults, and implement corrective actions to prevent future downtime.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical qualification, and brings hands-on experience from a tube mill or similar industrial manufacturing setting. You are someone who works well independently and thrives in a team environment. Strong attention to detail, sound organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues are essential.
