About the Role
ESP is seeking recent graduates and young engineers for its Engineer-in-Training (EIT) program. This position offers an opportunity to work with internationally renowned experts on both local and global projects. As an EIT, you will gain hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • Power system modeling, planning, and operational studies, including steady-state, contingency, fault-level, and dynamic studies.
  • Grid impact and grid code compliance studies for connecting renewable and conventional power plants.
  • Modelling and assessment of cutting-edge technologies like grid-forming inverters and hydrogen production systems.
  • Automation to enhance power system analysis tools.
  • Design and specification preparation for HV substations, transmission lines, and renewable power projects (solar PV and wind).
  • Technical report writing, communication, and presentation skills development.

The dynamic and challenging work environment provides an excellent foundation for building a long-term career in power engineering. Upon successful completion of the 2-year EIT program, candidates may be offered a permanent position based on performance.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential: BSc Elec Eng or BTech Elec Eng with a specialization in heavy current or power systems.
  • Advantageous: Postgraduate qualification, ECSA registration (PrEng or PrTech), and prior industry experience.
  • Preferred: Python coding skills and familiarity with emerging AI tools.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills.
