About the Programme

You’ll work alongside internationally renowned experts, gaining invaluable exposure to real-world projects that are shaping the future of energy infrastructure. Upon successful completion of the 2-year programme and subject to satisfactory performance, you’ll be offered a permanent position within one of our business units.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an EIT, you’ll receive comprehensive on-the-job training and practical experience in:
- Power System Analysis: Conduct modelling, planning, and operational studies including steady-state, contingency, fault level, and dynamic studies
- Grid Integration: Perform grid impact and grid code compliance studies for renewable and conventional power plant connections
- Emerging Technologies: Work with state-of-the-art technologies such as grid-forming inverters and hydrogen production systems
- Automation & Innovation: Develop automation solutions to enhance power system analysis capabilities
- Engineering Design: Prepare designs and specifications for HV substations, transmission lines, and renewable energy projects (solar PV and wind)
- Professional Communication: Develop technical reports and strengthen your presentation skills
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Requirements:
- BSc Electrical Engineering or BTech qualification with specialization in heavy current or power systems
- South African citizenship or valid South African Permanent Residence Permit
Advantageous Qualifications:
- Postgraduate qualification in relevant field
- ECSA registration (PrEng or PrTech)
- Previous industry experience
- Python coding skills and familiarity with emerging AI tools
Essential Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly motivated with a genuine passion for power engineering
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment
