About the Role
As an Engineering in Training (EIT) professional, you will embark on a comprehensive development program designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and practical experience necessary to become a registered professional engineer. This position offers hands-on exposure to real-world engineering challenges while working alongside experienced professionals who are committed to your growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
Your journey with ACTOM will involve several critical responsibilities that will shape your professional development:
You will work towards achieving professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), a significant milestone in any engineering career. This process will be supported by our experienced mentors who understand the requirements and standards expected by the council.
Documentation and reporting form a crucial part of your role. You will be responsible for writing monthly progress reports, developing technical manuals, and preparing other relevant documentation that tracks your development and contributions to various projects. This will not only enhance your technical writing skills but also ensure proper record-keeping for your ECSA registration process.
Testing, evaluation, and modification of products will provide you with invaluable practical experience. You’ll be involved in assessing engineering solutions, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing modifications to enhance product performance and reliability.
Qualifications Required
To be considered for this position, you must have completed Grade 12 and hold a BEng or BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. This educational foundation will serve as the springboard for your professional development with ACTOM.
Essential Competencies
We are looking for candidates who possess excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in English. The ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with team members is essential in our collaborative work environment.
