About the Program
Our comprehensive internship program offers three distinct pathways within the engineering field, providing graduates with an integrated platform to develop their skills and contribute to meaningful projects. Interns will be exposed to critical areas including Asset Management, Research and Innovation, with responsibilities spanning the collection, analysis, and interpretation of asset performance data, as well as research and innovation initiatives focused on road safety.

Remuneration: R96,000 per annum
Duration: 24 months

What You’ll Experience
Asset Management Internship
Working under the supervision of experienced Project Managers and Road Network Managers, you’ll gain hands-on experience in traffic monitoring and road network management. Your responsibilities will include:
- Learning TMH3 Traffic Monitoring Specifications and TMH14 Data Formats
- Assisting with tender preparation and traffic monitoring database updates
- Conducting structure inspections and visual assessments
- Ensuring traffic and structure data quality assurance
- Understanding the Road Asset Management Manual and ISO55001 certification processes
- Participating in procurement, data capturing, and 3D Lidar establishment projects
Research and Innovation Internship
Under the guidance of our Research, Innovation and Road Safety Education Manager, you’ll be involved in cutting-edge projects that shape the future of road infrastructure. Your role will encompass:
- Project management and administration of research programs
- Coordinating workshops and establishing research needs
- Managing quarterly progress reports and research focus area meetings
- Performing administrative oversight and contract management
- Coordinating research impact assessment reports
- Monitoring research team performance and supporting functional working groups
- Preparing comprehensive documentation and reports on research progress
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this exceptional opportunity, you must possess:
- NQF 7 in Public Administration & Management, OR
- NQF 7 in Engineering Project Management, OR
- NQF 6 or above in Civil Engineering
