Minimum Requirements

Candidates must hold a National Diploma or B Degree in one of the following fields relevant to the position they are applying for:

• Supply Chain Management or a related field
• Electrical Engineering
• Mining Engineering
• Human Resource Management or a related field

All qualifications must be from a recognised South African institution. Candidates who are in possession of foreign qualifications must have them evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).

Eligibility & Selection Conditions

To be considered for any of the internship positions, candidates must meet the following conditions and be prepared to undergo the full selection process as outlined below. Candidates must be younger than 35 years of age at the time of application. Shortlisted applicants will be required to successfully complete a structured selection process, including a formal interview, a psychometric assessment conducted by Exxaro, and a medical certificate of fitness assessment also conducted by Exxaro. Please note that successful completion of all these conditions does not automatically guarantee acceptance into the programme.

What the Programme Offers

Selected interns will be placed within their respective departments and will be responsible for delivering personal performance in accordance with a structured and well-designed training programme. Interns will gain invaluable exposure to real-world operations, processes, and systems within a leading South African mining company. All interns are expected to conduct themselves professionally and commit fully to Exxaro’s company rules, regulations, and values throughout the duration of the programme.

A monthly stipend will be paid to each successful candidate for the full duration of the 24-month contract, providing financial support while gaining vital industry experience. Please note that Exxaro does not provide accommodation to interns, and candidates are therefore advised to make their own housing arrangements prior to commencement.
