Gijima, a leading South African information and communications technology company, is offering a valuable opportunity for a Finance Intern to join its Group Finance team at the head office in Midrand. This internship provides a platform for graduates to gain practical exposure in financial operations within a dynamic corporate environment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will form part of the Group Finance division and assist with various finance functions, including capturing of financial data, analysis and preparation of reports, and performing reconciliations. This position is ideal for a motivated graduate who is eager to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world business setting while building a foundation for a long-term career in finance.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have completed a BCom or Diploma qualification in Accounting or Finance.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and the internet.
  • SAP experience will be a distinct advantage.
  • Must have a clear credit (ITC) record and no criminal record.
  • Must be currently unemployed and not participating in any other learnership or internship programme.
  • Must reside in Gauteng, preferably in or near Midrandrelocation is not provided.
  • Must be under the age of 35 as of 1 August 2025.
  • Must be a South African Citizen (African, Asian, Indian).

Key Responsibilities

The Finance Intern will gain exposure in multiple financial functions, including:

  • Execution and maintenance of internal control processes.
  • Preparation and analysis of financial reports.
  • Providing support during internal and external audits.
  • Assisting with general ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Supporting cash management and payroll financial functions.
  • Assisting in asset management and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Contributing to month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
  • Performing various ad hoc duties as required by management.
