Gibela, in partnership with Alstom, is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for a 24-month Graduate Programme under its Services division. The successful candidate will be based at the Braamfontein Depot in Johannesburg and will report directly to the Maintenance Team Leader.
About the Programme
This graduate programme is designed to equip participants with hands-on, practical skills within the transport rail manufacturing industry. Graduates will be immersed in a dynamic and technically challenging work environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the organisation. The programme places emphasis on real-world application, giving participants direct exposure to the servicing and maintenance of high-quality rail products, while supporting compliance with Gibela’s rigorous operational requirements and standards.
This is not a passive learning experience. Participants will be expected to contribute meaningfully from day one, developing both their technical expertise and professional competencies throughout the duration of the programme.
Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Maintenance Technician, you will be involved in troubleshooting and repair activities carried out in strict compliance with specified quality procedures and standards. Your responsibilities will also span quality assurance, safety adherence, and regulatory compliance, alongside documentation and reporting functions. You will work collaboratively within a team environment while continuously developing your product knowledge and making responsible use of all tools and equipment assigned to you.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must hold a National Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering. No previous work experience is required, making this an ideal entry point for recent graduates. Applicants must be South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 35, possess excellent English communication skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
