BA Manufacturing (Pty) Ltd is seeking a motivated and talented Graduate Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. About the Role

As a Graduate Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our engineering department while working closely with production engineers and process technicians. This position is designed to help you develop your theoretical knowledge into practical skills while contributing to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes.

What You’ll Do

Your responsibilities will be diverse and engaging, providing exposure to multiple aspects of engineering in a manufacturing context. You’ll provide essential entry-level support to the engineering department, conducting research and investigations to enhance productivity and efficiency. Working with the Perform Plus information system, you’ll help understand and control our processes while monitoring performance using statistical analysis.

You’ll be involved in creating technical reports, preparing work instructions, and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Documentation is crucial in manufacturing, and you’ll prepare reports, flow diagrams, and charts while becoming familiar with quality documentation standards including FIR, SDS, and MCC requirements.

Quality control will be a significant focus area. You’ll develop and operate quality control systems, use inspection tools and statistical methods to diagnose issues, and ensure compliance with product quality standards and practices. Your engineering knowledge will be applied to industry specifications, codes, and standards as you assist with Six Sigma activities and SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die) implementations.

Key Requirements

We’re looking for candidates with a National Diploma (Ndip) or B-Tech in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering and a Matric certificate. While we welcome fresh graduates, a minimum of one year’s experience in automotive component manufacturing would be advantageous. You should be proficient in 2D/3D CAD software and competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings.

Knowledge of automotive quality management systems, particularly APQP and ISO/TS 16949, is essential. You must also be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as these tools are integral to daily operations.
