About the Role

This is a graduate internship opportunity within the Group Employment Relations (ER) Practice, a specialist function sitting within Old Mutual’s Group Human Capital space. The ER Practice plays a critical role in supporting sound employee relations across Old Mutual Limited and its associated companies — working closely with line managers, Human Capital teams, trade unions, and employees to navigate the complexities of South African labour legislation.

As a Graduate Intern in Group Employment Relations, you will gain hands-on exposure to a dynamic, fast-paced HR and legal environment. This is a rare opportunity to build a strong foundation in employment relations from within one of Africa’s leading financial institutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will support the ER team across a variety of functions, including:

You are a driven, ambitious, and self-motivated achiever with a genuine passion for people and the law. You hit the ground running, take ownership of your work, and thrive in a collaborative environment.

To be considered, you must:

  • Hold a completed Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management (BHRM) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
  • Be a South African citizen
  • Demonstrate strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
