Kathu Solar Park stands as one of South Africa’s leading Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plants, having commenced commercial operations in January 2019. Our state-of-the-art facility delivers clean, renewable energy directly to South Africa’s national grid, contributing significantly to the country’s sustainable energy goals. Located in the Northern Cape’s John Taolo Gaetsewe District, our facility represents cutting-edge solar technology and innovation in action.

The Opportunity

This immersive 12-month internship program offers recent graduates unparalleled exposure to the renewable energy sector. You’ll work alongside industry professionals, gain hands-on experience with advanced solar technology, and contribute to projects that directly impact South Africa’s energy landscape. Our program is designed to provide comprehensive training while offering real-world application of your academic knowledge.

We’re recruiting for multiple specialized roles across various departments:

Engineering Positions:

• Electrical Engineer
• Mechanical Engineer
• Control & Instrumentation Engineer
• Process/Performance Engineer
• Plant Chemist/Chemical Analyst

Operations & Support Roles:

• HR Assistant
• Assistant Procurement Officer
• Health, Safety & Environmental Officer
• Economic Development Intern

What We’re Looking For

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum National Diploma (N6) or Bachelor’s degree
• South African citizenship or permanent residency
• Residence within the John Taolo Gaetsewe District, Northern Cape
• Strong academic performance and genuine interest in renewable energy
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in diverse teams

Advantageous Qualifications:

• Previous internship or work experience
• Technical certifications relevant to your field
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Proficiency in additional South African languages
