Masinong – Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Analytical Chemistry, Occupational Hygiene

Moab Khotsong (Incl. Services) – Mining Engineering, Land Survey, Mine Survey, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Ventilation, Finance, Environmental, Human Resources, Geology

Mponeng (Incl. Services) – Mining Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Geology, Rock Engineering, Occupational Hygiene, Metallurgy, Human Resources, Finance, Safety, Environmental

P1/P2 Experiential Learning placements are also available at select operations including Doornkop, Kusasalethu, Masinong, Moab Khotsong, Mponeng, Target, and more.

Who Should Apply?

This opportunity is open to South African citizens only, under the age of 35, who reside in one of the following districts: Free State (Lejweleputswa, Matjhabeng, Masilonyana), North West (Matlosana, Ratlou, Moqhaka), or Gauteng (City of Johannesburg, Merafong City, West Rand). Priority is also given to children of Harmony employees and community members in areas where Harmony Gold operates.

Applicants must be graduates or diplomates from an accredited South African university or college, holding a full tertiary qualification. Students applying for Internships must have completed their qualification in the relevant field and must not have previously benefited from a similar programme. Students applying for P1/P2 must provide a letter from their institution confirming the need for experiential exposure. Programme duration is 24 months for Core, Mining, Metallurgy, ORM and Engineering, and 12 months for non-core disciplines.

  • Proof of residence (water and lights account or signed affidavit)
