Are you a passionate engineering student looking to kickstart your career with one of Africa’s most iconic brands? Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) is offering an exciting 12-month In-Service Training opportunity for a Mechatronic Engineering student based at our Midrand facility in Gauteng.

About the Role

This is your chance to gain hands-on, real-world engineering experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment. As an Engineering In-Service Trainee, you will work alongside experienced engineers to inspect, maintain, and repair equipment — playing a direct role in keeping our operations running at peak performance.

You won’t just be observing. You’ll be contributing.

What You’ll Be Doing

From day one, you’ll be involved in meaningful work. You’ll conduct regular equipment inspections, assist with routine and preventative maintenance, and support the troubleshooting and repair of malfunctioning systems. You’ll document your findings, analyse performance data, and help identify trends that drive continuous improvement across the department.

You’ll apply your knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and physical principles in a practical setting — bridging the gap between classroom theory and industry application. Safety compliance and accurate record-keeping will be central to everything you do, and you’ll actively participate in team meetings and process improvement initiatives.

This is a learning environment, and mentorship from senior engineers will be a core part of your journey.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a motivated, high-energy individual who thrives under pressure and brings a genuine passion for engineering and people.

You must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy passed at 40% or above
  • Two South African languages passed at 40% or above
  • Currently studying towards a Mechatronic Engineering Diploma or related qualification
  • South African citizen and Employment Equity candidate
  • Must have been unemployed at time of appointment
  • Between 18–35 years of age

Beyond academics, we’re looking for someone with strong decision-making ability, an eye for emerging trends, and the drive to find innovative solutions to real engineering challenges.
