About This Opportunity

The Gauteng Office of the Premier is proud to announce an exciting internship opportunity within our Information Systems & Information Technology directorate. As part of our commitment to youth development and skills advancement in South Africa, we are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our 2025 Internship Programme.

This 24-month internship is designed to provide recent graduates with meaningful workplace experience in a supportive environment that promotes continuous professional development. You’ll be working alongside experienced IT professionals, gaining hands-on experience that complements your academic foundation and prepares you for a successful career in information technology.

What You’ll Do

As an IT intern, your duties will be specifically allocated according to your field of specialization within information systems and information technology. You’ll have the opportunity to work on real projects, contribute to government digital transformation initiatives, and develop practical skills that enhance your theoretical knowledge.

Who We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications:

  • NQF Level 6/7/8 qualification in Information Technology
  • Certificate A+ and N+ certifications (advantageous)
  • Programming and Microsoft certifications (advantageous)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • South African citizen
  • Age between 18-35 years
  • Gauteng Province resident
  • Unemployed graduate who has NOT previously participated in a government internship programme
  • Students who have completed academic theory and require experiential training
  • Must have studied at a recognized South African higher education institution
  • Completed undergraduate/postgraduate studies by end of 2024 academic year
