What You’ll Be Doing
As an Intern Developer at Coltman Code, you’ll be immersed in the daily operations of our development team. Your responsibilities will include:
Building and Testing Automation Flows: You’ll work extensively with n8n, a powerful automation platform, to create workflows based on clear project scopes. You’ll test, debug, and refine these flows to ensure they function flawlessly and meet business requirements.
Hands-On Coding: Under the guidance of senior developers, you’ll tackle simple coding tasks including writing helper scripts, developing small features, and fixing bugs. This is where you’ll apply what you’ve learned in your studies and build practical coding skills.
Quality Assurance: You’ll perform thorough testing and quality checks on features and workflows before they’re deployed, ensuring everything works as intended. You’ll also document bugs clearly, making it easier for the team to resolve issues quickly.
Documentation: Clear documentation is crucial in software development. You’ll create and maintain technical notes, document integrations and workflows, and write straightforward “how-to” guides that help the entire team work more efficiently.
Team Collaboration: You’ll participate in stand-ups, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions, learning directly from experienced developers. You’ll work closely with our project manager to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet expectations.
Continuous Learning: We encourage curiosity. You’ll research new APIs, explore integration possibilities, and stay current with best practices in coding, automation, and workflow development.
Support Responsibilities: You’ll take on support days, handling support tickets professionally and efficiently—an excellent way to develop problem-solving skills and client communication abilities.
What We’re Looking For
Education: A Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in Software Development, Computer Science, or a related field.
Technical Foundation: Familiarity with basic programming concepts and at least one language such as JavaScript or Python. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable with fundamental coding principles.
Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail. You enjoy figuring things out and don’t give up when faced with challenges.
Quick Learner: Technology evolves rapidly. We need someone who can pick up new tools and technologies quickly and apply them effectively.
Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication is essential. You’ll be documenting your work, reporting issues, and collaborating with team members daily.
