12-Month Internship Programme | Mining, Engineering & Environmental

Northam Eland Platinum Mine, a high-quality and growth-enabling mining operation in the North West Province near Brits, Hartbeespoort, and Pretoria, is seeking passionate graduates to join our 12-month internship programme.

As part of the Northam Platinum Limited group, Eland Platinum Mine is committed to promoting “Smart Platinum Mining” while responsibly delivering platinum group metals (PGMs) including platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium, ruthenium, and osmium. Currently in an exciting development phase with a life expectancy of 30 years, we offer an exceptional environment for young professionals to launch their careers.

About the Internship Programme

Our internship programme provides hands-on experience working alongside seasoned professionals on real-world projects. You’ll gain practical workplace-based experience in your chosen field while developing essential skills that will set you apart in the job market.

Available Disciplines:

• Mining (Internal or External) – Reference: MIN04
• Mine Ventilation (Internal or External) – Reference: MIV04
• Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (External) – Reference: ENG04
• Geology (Internal) – Reference: GEO04

Key Responsibilities:

• Gain practical, workplace-based experience in your chosen field
• Work with experienced professionals on value-adding projects
• Commit to the full 12-month training period as outlined in the internship contract

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 Certificate
• National Diploma or Degree at NQF level 6 or 7 in Mining or Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic) or 8 Degree in Geology
• Work exposure or Unifi qualification requirements
• Medically and Physically Fit
• Applicants must not have participated in an internship previously
