The Opportunity

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer Intern to join our Core Diagnostics Division in Johannesburg. This role involves providing technical service and support for our diagnostic instruments used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that our diagnostic systems operate efficiently, helping medical professionals make accurate and timely decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, repairs, and servicing of Abbott diagnostic systems at customer sites.
  • Implement major product upgrades related to assigned systems.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and support for service interventions.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to offer customers basic troubleshooting training.
  • Deliver proactive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Work closely with Technical Support Specialists and Field Service Engineers to resolve system issues efficiently.

Who Should Apply?

Minimum Requirements:

  • University degree (National Diploma) in: Electrical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Mechatronics, Medical Technology, Biomedical, or related field (must be completed).
  • Valid driver’s license and own car (Essential).
  • Must be based in Gauteng and willing to travel to surrounding areas.
  • Available to start immediately.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • No prior work experience required (in-service training will be accepted).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Passion for healthcare technology and innovation.
