Tiger Brands is excited to announce the launch of the 2026 Future Leaders Development Programme for aspiring Mechanical Engineers. As Africa’s largest listed manufacturer of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), we are passionate about developing exceptional young talent to shape the future of our business. This 24-month graduate programme is designed to accelerate the growth of individuals who demonstrate leadership potential, innovative thinking, and a strong drive to succeed in the FMCG sector.

The Future Leaders Development Programme (FLDP) aims to recruit recent graduates with a completed BSc or BEng Degree in Mechanical Engineering who are eager to build a long-term career with Tiger Brands. Candidates must have a minimum academic average of 65% and must have completed their qualification at an accredited institution in South Africa. We are looking for individuals who are ambitious, self-motivated, and demonstrate the potential for high achievement and innovation. Candidates should not have more than one year of full-time work experience in their field of study, excluding workplace experience gained during internships or in-service training.

Successful applicants will be placed in various disciplines across our business and will follow a structured, combined learning and development journey. The programme includes on-the-job training, mentorship, classroom learning, and real-time project involvement. Participants must be prepared for geographical mobility and be willing to relocate to different locations across South Africa during the course of the programme. This rotational structure is intended to provide a broad business understanding and to develop key capabilities for leadership roles within the company.

To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Hold a relevant Mechanical Engineering degree (BSc/BEng)
  • Achieved a 65% or higher academic average
  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be a recent graduate with no more than one year of relevant full-time work experience
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Be willing to relocate as required
  • Demonstrate leadership and teamwork capabilities
