South African Tourism invites ambitious, passionate, and motivated graduates to apply for the Graduate Internship Programme 2026, an exciting opportunity designed to develop young talent and build future leaders within South Africa’s tourism sector. This 24-month internship programme offers structured workplace learning, practical exposure, and professional development in a dynamic national organisation that plays a critical role in promoting South Africa as a preferred tourism destination .

The internship is based in Sandton, Gauteng, and is open to South African citizens who have completed a minimum three-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma, Degree, or BTech at NQF Level 6 or 7). Applicants must not have participated in any previous internship programme, making this an ideal opportunity for recent graduates seeking their first professional experience.

Internship opportunities are available across a wide range of business units, including Marketing and Communications, Digital Marketing, Public Relations, Research and Data Analytics, Finance, Supply Chain, Legal, Human Resources, ICT, Tourism Marketing, Events Management, Project Management, and Tourism Grading and Quality Assurance. Interns will be exposed to real-world projects such as stakeholder engagement, social media and content creation, data analysis, strategic planning, systems support, tourism marketing execution, and business events coordination, depending on their field of study .

Successful candidates will gain valuable hands-on experience, work alongside experienced professionals, and develop critical workplace skills such as communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and professional ethics. The programme also offers exposure to national and international tourism initiatives, providing interns with insight into how South Africa’s tourism brand is managed and promoted.

To be considered, applicants must demonstrate strong administrative and organisational skills, adaptability, a willingness to learn, and a genuine passion for tourism and national development.
