Job Description:

As a Junior IT Support Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth and uninterrupted IT operations. This includes maintaining IT systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting our staff with day-to-day technology challenges. You will be responsible for responding to support tickets, maintaining hardware and software, assisting with user training, and ensuring our network infrastructure runs efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ticket Resolution & Support:
    Respond to IT queries and issues effectively and within a reasonable time. Provide on-site, phone, and remote support.
  • System Maintenance & Administration:
    Monitor and maintain computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure. Perform software updates, backups, and security patches.
  • User Support & Training:
    Assist staff with technical problems, provide training on IT systems, and create user-friendly guides and documentation for common issues.
  • Hardware & Software Management:
    Install, configure, and update hardware and software. Maintain the IT asset register and ensure all equipment is functional and up to date.
  • Communication & Teamwork:
    Communicate professionally with internal staff. Provide timely feedback and collaborate with the broader IT team to support business objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or a relevant field.
  • 0–1 year of experience in an IT Support or Technical Support role.

Essential Skills:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365 and related suites.
  • Basic understanding of Azure, Active Directory, and network infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
  • Basic troubleshooting of printers and network issues.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
