Cwenga Technologies (Pty) Ltd is currently offering a valuable internship opportunity for students seeking P1 / P2 training in the fields of Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Metallurgy, Food Science, or Food Technology. The internship will be based at the company’s laboratory located in Edenvale, Gauteng.
This opportunity is ideal for dedicated and motivated individuals who are currently pursuing a relevant qualification and require in-service training to complete their studies. The internship provides a hands-on experience in a professional laboratory setting and allows the intern to be actively involved in analytical testing, quality control, and research activities. Interns will be guided and supervised by experienced professionals and will gain exposure to laboratory instrumentation, techniques, and best practices aligned with ISO standards.
Successful candidates will be expected to perform a variety of tasks. These include conducting routine laboratory tests and analyses in accordance with standard operating procedures, assisting in sample preparation, data collection, and reporting, and operating and maintaining laboratory equipment. Interns will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards and will be encouraged to contribute to project and research-related tasks.
To be eligible for this internship, candidates must meet several minimum requirements. Applicants must be currently studying towards a qualification in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Process Engineering, or a closely related discipline, with all S4 modules successfully completed. A valid driver’s license is mandatory for this position, and candidates must be able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Cwenga Technologies is seeking individuals who possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication abilities, and competent report-writing capabilities. A sound knowledge of English, both written and verbal, is essential for this internship.
The duration of the internship is six months and the successful candidate will receive a stipend of R7,700 per month for the duration of the programme.
