We are currently seeking a Production Engineering Intern to join our team in Isando, Johannesburg. This opportunity offers a dynamic and practical work-based learning experience designed to provide recent graduates in industrial engineering with exposure to real-world manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will be involved in various projects and tasks aimed at improving production processes, enhancing efficiency, and contributing to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Production Engineering Intern, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting time and motion studies to analyze and optimize processes
• Performing layout and flow studies to improve material handling and workflow
• Monitoring and controlling sort intervals for quality and efficiency
• Engaging in process capability studies to ensure consistent and capable manufacturing processes
• Participating in problem-solving and root cause analysis to resolve production issues
• Supporting Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) studies to identify areas of improvement in machine and process performance

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Diploma in Industrial Engineering (must have completed S4)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good presentation and communication abilities
• Ability to write clear technical reports
• Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles will be an added advantage
