About the Role
As a Junior IT Technician, you’ll be the first point of contact for users experiencing technical difficulties. You’ll play a vital role in keeping our systems running smoothly by providing responsive, efficient technical support. While most of your work will be conducted remotely, you’ll occasionally visit client sites to provide hands-on assistance when needed.
This position offers real-world experience across multiple IT disciplines, from hardware troubleshooting to cloud-based applications, giving you the foundation to build a successful career in information technology.
What You’ll Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Frontline Support: Respond to IT queries and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices
- Operating System Management: Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows 10/11 systems, user profiles, and shared network drives
- Microsoft 365 Support: Assist users with Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and other Office applications
- User Administration: Help with user account creation, password resets, and basic Active Directory management
- Mobile Device Support: Provide basic troubleshooting and setup assistance for mobile devices and endpoints
- Ticket Management: Accurately log, update, and close helpdesk tickets, maintaining clear documentation of all issues and resolutions
- Escalation: Recognize when issues require senior-level expertise and escalate appropriately
- Communication: Deliver professional, clear explanations to users while resolving their technical problems
- Security Awareness: Support IT security best practices, including identifying phishing attempts and ensuring systems remain updated
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Technical Skills:
- Approximately 1 year of IT support experience (internships, service desk roles, or junior positions welcome)
- Solid understanding of Windows environments, particularly Windows 10/11
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications
- Basic networking concepts (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP) – even foundational understanding is valuable
- Exposure to Active Directory for user management is beneficial
- Experience with remote support tools such as TeamViewer or Remote Desktop is advantageous
- CompTIA A+ certification or currently studying toward one would strengthen your application
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport preferred for occasional site visits
