The Opportunity

This permanent position offers an attractive salary package ranging from R144,000 to R240,000 annually (CTC, negotiable based on experience). It’s designed for early-career professionals with 0-2 years of experience who hold a BTech in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering and are eager to build their laboratory expertise in a hands-on industrial environment.

What You’ll Do

As a Junior Lab Assistant, you’ll be integral to our metallurgical operations, conducting routine tests and analyses that directly support our mineral processing plants. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing fire assays, atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), sample digestion, milling operations, settling tests, and flotation bench tests—giving you comprehensive exposure to essential metallurgical techniques.

You’ll work with specialized equipment including mills, ovens, furnaces, precision balances, and filter presses, developing technical skills that are highly valued across the mining and minerals sector. Proper sample preparation, accurate labeling, and meticulous documentation will be central to your role, helping you develop the attention to detail that defines excellent laboratory practice.
