RedCat Recruitment is proud to partner with a well-established, growing international concern to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Junior Operations Technician for their facility in the Camperdown area, KwaZulu-Natal.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual with feed mill or manufacturing exposure to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting feed process technology and engineering operations across all business units.

Requirements

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and experience:

Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Feed Mill Technology

Experience: 0-2 years’ experience in a feed mill or manufacturing environment (preferred but not required)

Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of mechanical systems, electrical fundamentals, and automation processes

Personal Attributes: Willingness to work shifts, learn company processes, and adapt to a demanding production environment. Knowledge in engineering and production process technology, feed milling technology, and PLC technology will be considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

As Junior Operations Technician, you will be responsible for a diverse range of technical and operational duties, including:

• Providing feed process technology and engineering support to all business units, with particular focus on implementing major projects
• Protecting company assets through the development and implementation of best practice asset management principles
• Supporting the development of production and engineering staff with regard to feed process technology and engineering skills
• Increasing depth and capability within the operations team through knowledge transfer and mentorship
• Equipment support, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance (PM)
• Production process monitoring to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
• Driving continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives across operations
• Ensuring quality and safety compliance at all times
• Maintaining comprehensive documentation and reporting systems
• Fostering teamwork and collaborative learning within the department
• Contributing to project management activities as required
