Rheinmetall Denel Munition (RF) (Pty) Ltd | Boksburg
Are you a recently qualified engineer ready to make your mark in advanced manufacturing? Join Rheinmetall, a global leader in defence technology, and help drive innovation in our Weapons and Ammunition Division.
About the Role
As a Junior Process Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of our manufacturing operations, ensuring seamless production processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This is an exceptional opportunity for ambitious engineers who want to develop their skills while working on projects that matter.
Your Key Responsibilities:
You’ll ensure manufacturing process documentation is ready and compliant before production begins, bridging the gap between planning and execution. Managing capital projects from concept to completion, you’ll apply project management best practices to deliver results that impact our bottom line.
As the first line of technical support for our production teams, you’ll solve real-time challenges while developing long-term solutions. Your work will span designing and improving manufacturing processes, conducting operational studies, and translating business requirements into actionable specifications.
You’ll map current processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimised layouts that enhance productivity and reduce costs. Working closely with functional leaders, you’ll drive performance improvements through data-driven insights and innovative thinking. Managing CAPEX projects will give you end-to-end project experience, from budgeting and design through to execution and reporting.
What You’ll Bring
We’re seeking candidates with a BSc or BEng degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and up to two years of experience in continuous manufacturing environments. While experience is valuable, we’re equally interested in your potential and eagerness to learn.
You’ll need strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the creativity and initiative to tackle complex challenges. Excellent communication skills are essential – you’ll interact with everyone from shop floor operators to senior management.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and Design of Experiments is desirable but not essential. Familiarity with SAP and CAD software (particularly Solid Edge) will give you an advantage. Most importantly, we need someone who can work precisely and methodically, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
