KSB Pumps and Valves (Pty) Ltd is inviting applications from suitably qualified graduates for a Technical Intern position based at its Germiston facility. This is a structured internship opportunity designed to give engineering graduates broad, hands-on exposure to technical engineering processes within a globally respected manufacturing environment.

Joining the KSB Technical Department as an intern means becoming part of a team that manages complex pump and valve solutions from initial specification through to product delivery and ongoing lifecycle management.
About the Role
The Technical Intern will support the Technical Department across two primary areas: Engineering Operations and Product Management Operations.
Within Engineering Operations, the intern will be responsible for engineering and modifying bills of material in line with data sheets and customer orders, loading materials and purchase items for pump projects on SAP, and entering both standard and non-standard jobs onto the SAP system. The role involves liaising with the drawing office, handling internal queries from sales, purchasing, and production departments, as well as managing general enquiries with suppliers and customers. The intern will also verify pump and material selection, performance, mechanical seal selection, and auxiliaries, and will update and check Item Master Notes (IMNs).
Within Product Management Operations, the intern will take responsibility for supporting the complete product lifecycle of assigned products. This includes defining technical specifications for new products in line with customer requirements, marketing inputs, and product management guidelines, as well as conducting market and competitor analyses. The intern will provide technical support to the sales team, assist with the setup and maintenance of master bills of material for standard products, and configure selection software tools including Easy-Select, KSBbase, E2E, and SAP. Additional responsibilities include gathering field performance data, supporting product modification reviews, and assisting with cost verification, pricelist setup, and product documentation.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must hold a National Diploma (NDip) or Advanced Diploma (AdvDip) in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering at NQF Level 6. No prior work experience is required, though previous internship exposure will be an advantage.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to customer care, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. A mechanical aptitude and a positive, proactive attitude are essential.
Working Conditions
The position includes one to two months of hands-on workshop training, followed by an office-based working environment.
