The Opportunity

As a Learner Artisan (Millwright), you’ll undergo comprehensive training to become a qualified millwright according to SETA (QCTO) and National Artisan Moderation Board (NAMB) requirements. This apprenticeship combines practical hands-on experience with theoretical knowledge, preparing you for a rewarding career in industrial maintenance and engineering.

What You’ll Do

Your journey will involve developing proven competence in pre-identified areas of plant, mine, and equipment systems. You’ll learn to understand and utilize plant maintenance documentation systems, work management planning, and gain essential process knowledge specific to your discipline. Safety is paramount – you’ll master Safety Management Systems including IMS and MBO, emergency procedures, and task risk assessments.

You’ll participate in daily morning meetings, root cause analyses, and quarterly performance appraisals to support your personal development. As you progress, you’ll contribute to maintenance strategy, conduct physical inspections, provide feedback on work progress, and eventually take leadership roles within team efforts. This programme develops not just technical skills, but also professional capabilities including teamwork, accountability, and self-development.

What We’re Looking For

Candidates must have completed Matric/N3 or equivalent qualification with passes in Mathematics, Science, and English. We’re seeking individuals who demonstrate nimble learning, self-awareness, and the ability to manage complexity. You should be committed to continuous self-development and capable of ensuring accountability in your work.
