Universal Chrome Mineral is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Metallurgy Intern to join our Processing Plant team at our state-of-the-art Steelpoort site in Limpopo Province. About the Role

As a Metallurgy Intern, you will be an integral part of our Metallurgy and Processing team, gaining invaluable practical exposure to the chrome processing industry. This role is designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industrial application, allowing you to develop essential skills while contributing meaningfully to our operations.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include operating chrome processing machinery safely and efficiently, monitoring critical processing parameters, and conducting routine inspections and quality checks of chrome products. You’ll maintain accurate production logs and documentation, support process optimization initiatives, and participate in plant trials and quality control activities. Additionally, you’ll assist with sampling, data collection, and analysis while ensuring strict adherence to all safety, environmental, and operational procedures.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma or Degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or a related field, with a basic understanding of mineral processing principles. Computer literacy in MS Excel and Word is essential, as is a genuine willingness to work in a plant and industrial environment.

We value candidates who demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Strong safety awareness is non-negotiable in our operations, and we seek individuals with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
