The Opportunity

Reporting to the Methods Manager, the successful candidate will be embedded within the Services division, gaining hands-on exposure to rail manufacturing and maintenance processes across a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment. Over 24 months, you will develop practical expertise in industrial methods engineering while contributing meaningfully to production and maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Methods Engineer Graduate, you will:

  • Industrialise manufacturing and maintenance processes for repair centres, working within established project standards and constraints
  • Monitor Life Cycle Costs (LCC) associated with repair activities
  • Contribute to ERP systems and database management aligned with engineering breakdown structures and production activities
  • Create and manage tasks within the LCC IT tool in line with the Make or Buy strategy
  • Obtain and update industrial documentation from OEMs necessary for all production and maintenance activities
  • Support compliance monitoring against Gibela’s technical requirements and quality standards

Minimum Requirements

  • National Diploma in Industrial Engineering (essential)
  • B-Tech / Advanced Diploma / BEngTech in Industrial Engineering (advantageous)
  • No prior work experience required — this programme is designed for recent graduates
  • South African citizen aged between 18 and 35 years
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in MS Office
