Role Purpose:
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Intern to join our Group Facilities Management team. This role offers hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical (HVAC), and electronic system maintenance while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The intern will work closely with experienced professionals to support facility infrastructure projects and day-to-day maintenance tasks.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • National Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Mechanical (HVAC) Engineering or a related field
  • Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems, maintenance, and safety regulations
  • Previous experience in an internship, practical training, or coursework in electrical/mechanical (HVAC) work is advantageous

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance of company facilities infrastructure, ensuring operational efficiency
  • Conduct routine inspections and testing of equipment to identify faults or inefficiencies
  • Support preventative maintenance activities in compliance with safety standards
  • Assist with installation, repair, and troubleshooting of facility infrastructure components
  • Document maintenance activities and compile reports on infrastructure system performance
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and compliance regulations within the facility
  • Work with the Facilities team and external contractors on infrastructure projects
  • Assist in energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability projects

Competencies:

  • Strong technical aptitude in electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems
  • Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and compliance standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
