About the Internship Programme
The NHBRC is proud to announce our 2026 Internship Programme, offering unemployed graduates an exceptional opportunity to gain valuable work experience in the home-building and construction regulatory sector. This comprehensive 18-month programme is designed to develop young professionals while contributing meaningfully to South Africa’s housing industry.
We invite passionate, driven graduates between 18-35 years of age to apply for this transformative opportunity. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend throughout the entire 18-month programme period.

We have exciting internship positions available across multiple departments:
Legal & Compliance Services Intern – Western Cape
Qualification Required: LLB Degree
Administration Intern – Western Cape
Qualifications Required: National Diploma/Degree in:
- Office Management or related fields
- Public Administration
- Business Administration
- Marketing
Engineering & Inspection Services Intern – Limpopo
Qualifications Required: National Diploma/Degree in:
- Civil or Structural Engineering
- Built Environment
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the NHBRC Internship Programme 2026, applicants must:
- Be unemployed graduates between 18-35 years of age
- Have never participated in any Public Service internship programme in any government department
- Hold relevant qualifications as specified for each position
- Be South African citizens
- Demonstrate commitment to professional development and learning
- Show enthusiasm for contributing to South Africa’s housing sector
