National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA) is pleased to announce applications for our 2026 New Learner Intake. We are offering 174 learner opportunities across various NTCSA sites nationwide, designed to develop future skills and strengthen organizational capacity in South Africa’s electricity transmission sector.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

1. ENGINEER IN TRAINING (EIT) – 43 Positions

Locations: Gauteng, Limpopo, KZN
Duration: 24 months (on-the-job training)
Qualifications: BEng/BSc Degree in Electrical, Electrical & Electronic, Electro-Mechanics, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science/Information Systems Engineering

2. GRADUATE IN TRAINING (GIT) – 52 Positions

Locations: Gauteng & KZN
Duration: 24 months (on-the-job training)

Specializations Available:

  • Engineering (Technical): Architecture, Geology, Land Surveying degrees
  • Energy Market Services & International Trading: Law, Commerce, Accounting degrees
  • Finance: Economics, Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Cost & Management Accounting, Logistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, BTech/BEng Technology
  • Human Resources: HR Management, Social/Behavioural Sciences, Information Systems, Social Work, Psychology, Industrial & Organisational Psychology, Occupational Therapy
  • Procurement & Supply Chain Management: Administration, Public Administration, Commerce degrees
  • Safety/Security & Environmental: Safety Management, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Health, Natural Sciences, Security Management/Policing/Law (NQF 7, 360 credits)
  • Project Delivery (Technical & Non-Technical): Quantity Surveying, Commerce, Human Sciences, Project Management, Engineering degrees

3. TECHNICIAN IN TRAINING (TIT)/PUPIL TECHNICIAN – 57 Positions

Locations: Gauteng, KZN, Bloemfontein, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape
Duration: 12 months (institutional & on-the-job training)
Qualifications: Completed S4/Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current), Civil Engineering, Surveying, or Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications)
Benefit: Opportunity to attain Diploma/P1/P2 qualifications

4. LEARNER ARTISAN – 11 Positions

Locations: Gauteng & KZN
Duration: 3 years (institutional & on-the-job training)
Qualifications: Grade 12 with Maths 50%, Physical Science 50%, English 40% OR N3 Engineering with English 40% OR NCV Level 4 with Maths 50%, Physical Science 50%, English 40%
Benefit: Opportunity to attain trade test certificate

5. LEARNER (NON-TECHNICAL) – 11 Positions

Location: Gauteng
Duration: 12 months (on-the-job training)
Qualifications: National Diploma in Information Technology, Commerce, Logistics, Transport, Supply Chain Management, Information Management, or Mechanical Engineering
