This 12-month Engineering Graduate Internship Programme, based in Roodekop, offers an exceptional opportunity for ambitious engineering graduates to gain real-world experience within a high-performance industrial environment.

This programme is specifically designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application, equipping graduates with the skills, exposure, and confidence needed to build a successful long-term engineering career.

About the Programme

This is not a routine graduate placement. The internship follows a structured rotational model, allowing graduates to gain hands-on exposure across multiple engineering and operational divisions within a modern manufacturing facility. Throughout the year, interns will work closely with experienced engineers and technical specialists, gaining insight into advanced production systems, project execution, and engineering best practices.

The programme offers exposure to engineering project management, machine installations, commissioning activities, and ongoing technical support functions. By rotating across different departments, graduates develop a broad understanding of the business while identifying their strengths and preferred career paths.

Key Responsibilities

As an Engineer in Training, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the installation and commissioning of high-value, advanced machinery and plant equipment
  • Managing assigned engineering projects under supervision, from planning through to execution
  • Developing and maintaining project schedules and engineering documentation
  • Preparing engineering proposals, technical specifications, and cost-related information
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers, and service providers, both locally and internationally
  • Monitoring project progress and providing regular status and performance reports
  • Supporting compliance with ISO standards and internal engineering procedures

You will be involved in projects that directly influence operational efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Candidate Requirements

This opportunity is open to graduates who hold a BSc or BEng degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • High computer literacy, particularly in Excel and CAD software
  • Understanding of ISO procedures and structured work environments
  • Good numeracy, financial awareness, and commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, enthusiastic attitude with the ability to work well in a team
