The Opportunity

This comprehensive 12-month internship programme is specifically designed to transform talented Quantity Surveying graduates into confident, capable professionals within the EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management) environment. You’ll be immersed in real mining and mineral processing projects, working alongside renowned subject matter experts who are passionate about sharing their knowledge.

Reporting directly to the Manager: Project Controls, you’ll receive structured mentorship, professional guidance, and exposure to multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring you develop both technical competence and workplace readiness.

What You’ll Do

Your role will be diverse and dynamic, providing exposure to all aspects of project delivery:

• Assist with cost estimation, budgeting, and financial tracking for mining projects
• Support the preparation of tender documentation, contracts, and project reports
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities
• Contribute to data analysis, cost modeling, and project controls documentation
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams on integrated project delivery
• Attend site visits, technical reviews, and client meetings to gain practical field experience
• Support HSE compliance activities, ensuring projects meet safety and environmental standards
• Engage in continuous learning through structured mentorship and professional development sessions

What We’re Looking For

Essential Requirements:

• Recently completed tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying from a recognized institution
• South African citizenship
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency in MS Office suite
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced professional environment
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required

Advantageous:

• Familiarity with industry-specific software and project management tools
• Understanding of mining or construction environments
• Demonstrated interest in the resources sector
