1. HRD INTERN
The Role:
Oversees and coordinates departmental/project activities to ensure efficient and effective delivery of service and objectives within the Human Resource Development function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute corporate administrative services within approved policies
- Establish effective documenting systems and processes for departmental services
- Coordinate Learning and Development Projects and Courses
- Facilitate Soft Skills programs, workshops, and corporate training
- Participate in Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Reporting
- Analyze L&D processes and Return on Investment on programs
- Complete personal development as per Training Matrix
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification
- NQF 7 Degree in Management, Human Sciences, Industrial Engineering, or Business Informatics
- Informatics and Data Analytics modules will be an added advantage
- Valid driver’s license
- Outgoing and extroverted personality
- Passion to share knowledge and develop people
- English language proficiency
- High level of Project Management acumen
2. ENGINEERING INTERN: HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
The Role:
A unique opportunity combining engineering expertise with human resource development, deployed across various Sandvik divisions to gain theoretical and practical experience.
Programme Coverage:
Operational Exposure:
- Work with production workshop teams and service contract teams
- Develop product knowledge and application skills
- Gain on-site exposure to diverse customer environments
- Experience the mining environment and develop key competencies
- Participate in new product and optimization projects
Human Resource Development Exposure:
- Conduct skills audits across business divisions
- Facilitate product training, demonstrations, and corporate training
- Conduct assessments and moderation
- Performance needs and gap analysis projects
- Prepare Workplace Skills Planning (WSP) and Annual Training Reports (ATR)
- Develop and implement training programs
- Manage Engineering and Related Learning Programs (Apprenticeships, Learnerships, Internships)
Business Exposure:
- Business needs analysis
- Negotiation and stakeholder management
- Project management and selling skills
Key Performance Areas:
- Implement and evaluate employee development plans
- Analyze development needs and deliver programs
- Counsel employees about development opportunities
- Monitor effectiveness of training programs
- Make recommendations for equipment performance improvements
- Develop sales opportunities for Sandvik product lines
- Handle customers professionally during high-pressure situations
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering
- PG Diploma in HRD/ODET Diploma will be an advantage
- Mining, Management and Technical background
- Passion for developing people
- Extroverted and outgoing personality
- Training facilitation background advantageous
- High-level critical, analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Digital Skills Literacy (Microsoft Office, Power BI) advantageous
- Passion for technology
- Project Management and negotiation skills
- Medical fit for underground mining environment
3. HRD INTERN: SYSTEMS AND DATA ANALYTICS
The Role:
Support the Human Resource Development function through the design, automation, and management of digital systems and databases that enhance training administration, record keeping, and reporting efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply advanced and predictive analysis, people metrics and reporting
- Develop and maintain Power Apps and Power Automate solutions for HRD workflows
- Create and manage SharePoint databases and dashboards
- Maintain and troubleshoot systems to ensure continuity
- Collect, clean, and validate data from HRD systems
- Develop Power BI dashboards for data visualization
- Support BBBEE and Skills Development reporting
- Administer and monitor eLearning on LMS platforms
- Maintain learner progress data and generate compliance reports
- Identify HRD processes for automation
- Design workflow automations using Power Automate
- Streamline eDocs and SharePoint structures
- Analyze training trends and learner performance
- Prepare reports and recommendations with actionable insights
- Provide system support to HRD users
- Liaise with IT for integration and troubleshooting
- Conduct training on Power Apps and dashboards
Requirements:
- Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7)
- Preferred Majors: Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Information Technology, Industrial Engineering (Data focus)
- Recommended Certifications: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900), Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300), SQL for Data Analysis
