About the South African Weather Service

The South African Weather Service is a public entity under the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries. As the national authority for weather and climate forecasting, SAWS provides vital services to support decision-making across agriculture, aviation, disaster management, and more. Our Remote Sensing and ICT divisions play a critical role in acquiring, processing, and analyzing environmental data to enhance our forecasting capabilities and scientific research.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking one (1) motivated and qualified graduate who meets the following minimum criteria:

• Completed a relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in:
  • Remote Sensing Science
  • Software Development
  • Hardware Development
  • Information and Communication Technology
• South African citizen aged between 18 – 35 years
• Currently unemployed and not engaged in any previous work experience
• Available to commit to a full-time internship for 12 consecutive months
• Willing and able to commute daily to Centurion at their own cost
