The South African Weather Service (SAWS) invites enthusiastic, talented, and driven graduates to apply for our 12-month ICT Internship Programme for the 2025-2026 cycle.
This exciting opportunity is specifically tailored for individuals who have completed a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Software Development, Hardware Development, Remote Sensing Science, or related Technological fields. The successful candidate will join our skilled ICT team located at our Head Office in Centurion, where they will gain hands-on experience, develop valuable skills, and contribute to real-world projects within one of South Africa’s leading science-based organisations.
About the South African Weather Service
The South African Weather Service is a public entity under the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries. As the national authority for weather and climate forecasting, SAWS provides vital services to support decision-making across agriculture, aviation, disaster management, and more. Our Remote Sensing and ICT divisions play a critical role in acquiring, processing, and analyzing environmental data to enhance our forecasting capabilities and scientific research.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking one (1) motivated and qualified graduate who meets the following minimum criteria:
- Completed a relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in:
- Remote Sensing Science
- Software Development
- Hardware Development
- Information and Communication Technology
- South African citizen aged between 18 – 35 years
- Currently unemployed and not engaged in any previous work experience
- Available to commit to a full-time internship for 12 consecutive months
- Willing and able to commute daily to Centurion at their own cost
