Eskom, South Africa’s leading electricity utility, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Technician Maintenance (Electrical) to join the Electrical Maintenance team at Kriel Power Station in Mpumalanga. This is a critical role focused on ensuring the reliability and availability of plant infrastructure through expert maintenance and leadership.

Key Purpose
As a Technician Maintenance (Electrical), you will be responsible for optimizing system performance, leading maintenance teams, and driving improvements in plant reliability. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, cable infrastructure, and overhead line installations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize allocated electrical systems
• Verify components, spares, and services for compliance and quality
• Lead and execute maintenance activities across plant infrastructure
• Assist in plant modifications to enhance reliability
• Mentor and develop team members
• Supervise projects and contractors
• Ensure compliance with the permit-to-work system
• Perform administrative and reporting duties

• In-depth knowledge of National and International Engineering Codes and Standards
• Familiarity with HV/LV regulations and SANS electrical installation standards
• Proficiency in cable testing equipment and cable maintenance

• Basic SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) knowledge
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and diagnostic abilities
• Computer literacy and quality control awareness

🎓 Minimum Requirements

• Qualification: National Diploma or National N Diploma (Technical)
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in electrical maintenance (experience in cable infrastructure is advantageous)
