Transnet Corporate Centre is seeking applications for the Work Integrated Learner (Technical) Programme. This 12-month initiative offers students and recent graduates practical workplace experience to apply academic knowledge in a professional setting. The programme aims to improve employability through hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to industry-specific tasks. Successful candidates will be placed in various locations and report to the Senior Specialist: Leadership and Functional Development.

Key responsibilities include assisting with departmental projects and work streams, performing operational tasks under supervision, and supporting administrative duties such as documentation and reporting. Learners will participate in training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programmes, shadowing experienced professionals to gain valuable insights.

Additional duties involve engaging in problem-solving activities, interacting with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, and providing regular updates on assigned tasks. Participants will also conduct research, collect and analyse data, prepare reports and presentations, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Applicants must have a Matric certificate and have completed all theoretical coursework in B Eng Tech/S4-S5 in disciplines such as Electronics, Electrical (Heavy Current), Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, Physical Metallurgy, or Chemical Engineering. Candidates must be South African citizens aged between 18 and 35, with preference given to people with disabilities. There should be no bursary obligations with another company. Applicants must provide proof of confirmation from their institution, as well as certified copies of their Matric certificate, academic record, and ID.

Competencies required include strong written and verbal communication skills, basic computer literacy, teamwork, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and good interpersonal skills.
