Broadband Infraco is offering a 12-month University Placement in Operations and Maintenance for Electrical Engineering or Computer Science students in Bloemfontein. No experience required. A stipend is provided.

Broadband Infraco, national and international optic fibre connectivity network infrastructure provider based in Radiokop, is inviting applications from suitable candidates for its Work Integrated Learning Programme (WILP). This initiative is designed to provide valuable workplace exposure and practical experience to students who are completing their qualifications. The company is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join its Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Division for a University Placement opportunity lasting 12 months. The placement will be based in Bloemfontein, with two positions currently available.

The programme is aimed at candidates who have already achieved their Matric and have successfully completed the theoretical studies (S4) of a National Diploma or an N6 National Certificate in Electrical Engineering, with specialization in either Heavy Current or Light Current, or in Computer Science. Applicants must be able to provide a letter from their university confirming that they require workplace exposure in order to finalize their qualification. This ensures that the programme not only provides valuable on-the-job training but also supports academic requirements for graduation. Importantly, no prior working experience is necessary, making this an excellent opportunity for students seeking their first professional placement in the engineering or computer science field.

The placement offers participants an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to operations and maintenance within a large-scale national fibre connectivity network provider. By joining Broadband Infraco, learners will have the chance to develop both technical and professional skills in a supportive environment where learning and growth are prioritized. A monthly stipend will be provided to assist learners financially throughout the 12-month programme.

It is important to note that Broadband Infraco reserves the right not to make an appointment or to make a temporary appointment depending on organizational requirements. Appointments are subject to verification of applicant qualifications and reference checks. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted within four weeks of the closing date. Candidates who have not been contacted within this time should regard their applications as unsuccessful.

Broadband Infraco is committed to its Employment Equity Plan and encourages applications from suitably qualified candidates, including persons with disabilities. The company values diversity and inclusion and strives to provide equal opportunities for all applicants. This programme is an excellent opportunity for aspiring engineers and computer scientists to gain practical exposure in the telecommunications industry while contributing to the growth and success of a leading national infrastructure provider.

Candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting a CV along with a covering letter to the email address careers@infraco.co.za. Enquiries regarding the programme may be directed to Ms. Nompumelelo Mtsweni during office hours at 011 235 1612. All applications must be received before the closing date of 27 August 2025. Late applications will not be considered.
