Work Integrated Learning Programme – Corporate Services Department (CSD)

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB), in partnership with the South African Bank Note Company (RF) Proprietary Limited (SABN), is proud to announce the launch of its Work Integrated Learning Programme (WILP), designed to build and support the next generation of technical and engineering professionals in South Africa.
As part of our commitment to national development and skills enhancement, this programme aims to provide practical, hands-on training to students and graduates who are pursuing careers in engineering and technical trades. The initiative plays a vital role in addressing the skills gap in the country while offering participants the opportunity to work in a prestigious financial institution.
Programme Overview
Participants in the programme will gain real-world experience at various SARB and SABN sites including:
- SARB Head Office in Pretoria
- SABN in Pretoria North
- SARB Cash Centres in Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg
The programme is structured to provide maximum exposure in participants’ fields of study, preparing them for both the trade test (for artisans) and the completion of national diplomas (for technicians). A monthly stipend will be provided for the duration of the programme.
Who Should Apply?
We are looking for motivated, driven, and passionate individuals who are committed to excelling in their respective fields. The programme is open to South African citizens who meet the following criteria:
1. Artisans
- Students from Further Education and Training (FET) Colleges
- Must have completed at least N4 in one of the following disciplines:
- Electrical
- Electronics
- Mechanical
- Plumbing
- HVAC
- Carpentry
- Require 36 months of practical work experience to qualify for a trade test
2. Technicians
- Students from Universities of Technology
- Must have completed at least S4 in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Require 12 months of practical training to complete a national diploma

Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will undergo:
- A psychometric assessment
- A security clearance
