About the Programme

This comprehensive 6-month programme bridges the gap between academic theory and industry practice. Designed specifically for graduates requiring P1 and P2 practical work experience, you’ll gain hands-on exposure in a world-class pulp and paper manufacturing environment. Upon successful completion, you’ll be equipped with the skills and competencies needed to work as an entry-level operator in the industry.

What You’ll Do

As a programme participant, you’ll be immersed in real production environments where you’ll:

• Learn to operate and optimize production processes under expert supervision
• Master safety compliance procedures and quality control standards
• Develop proficiency in SAP and Microsoft systems for production tracking
• Assist with plant start-ups, shutdowns, and routine operational checks
• Conduct basic troubleshooting and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Complete daily checklists, reports, and equipment inspections
• Collaborate with experienced production teams to understand equipment performance

What We’re Looking For

Essential Requirements:

• Diploma in Chemical Engineering and/or Pulp & Paper Technology
• Minimum 60% average academic performance
• Must require P1 & P2 practical work experience to complete your qualification
• Valid South African driver’s license
• Basic computer literacy (SAP/Microsoft applications)
• Understanding of chemical safety principles

Advantageous:

• Completed P1 & P2 practical experience in heavy industry
