About the Programme
This comprehensive 6-month programme bridges the gap between academic theory and industry practice. Designed specifically for graduates requiring P1 and P2 practical work experience, you’ll gain hands-on exposure in a world-class pulp and paper manufacturing environment. Upon successful completion, you’ll be equipped with the skills and competencies needed to work as an entry-level operator in the industry.
What You’ll Do
As a programme participant, you’ll be immersed in real production environments where you’ll:
- Learn to operate and optimize production processes under expert supervision
- Master safety compliance procedures and quality control standards
- Develop proficiency in SAP and Microsoft systems for production tracking
- Assist with plant start-ups, shutdowns, and routine operational checks
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Complete daily checklists, reports, and equipment inspections
- Collaborate with experienced production teams to understand equipment performance
What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering and/or Pulp & Paper Technology
- Minimum 60% average academic performance
- Must require P1 & P2 practical work experience to complete your qualification
- Valid South African driver’s license
- Basic computer literacy (SAP/Microsoft applications)
- Understanding of chemical safety principles
Advantageous:
- Completed P1 & P2 practical experience in heavy industry
