Ann Swann Personnel Services is currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable client in Boksburg, Gauteng, seeking an enthusiastic and technically inclined graduate to join their team for a 12-month Workshop Internship. This opportunity is perfect for a recent graduate with a passion for mechanical or electrical systems and a desire to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic workshop environment.

Position Overview:
This Workshop Internship will provide the successful candidate with comprehensive, practical exposure to various technical systems and machinery. From quality calibrations to supporting calibration and workshop teams, the intern will be fully immersed in a professional environment that fosters learning, collaboration, and compliance with high safety and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting quality calibrations both in-house and onsite in accordance with national and international standards.
  • Ensuring traceability of laboratory equipment and calibration results.
  • Assisting in resolving quality issues and supporting problem-solving efforts.
  • Managing customer equipment and meeting turnaround time (TAT) KPIs.
  • Utilizing the “Spirit” system for effective equipment tracking and management.
  • Supporting calibration and workshop teams with daily tasks and maintaining high standards of housekeeping.
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Assisting the sales, project, and logistics teams as required.
  • Following safety protocols diligently and prioritizing safety in all activities.
  • Performing timely calibrations according to reference schedules.
  • Handling tools and equipment safely, including items of considerable weight.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric certificate.
  • A completed tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Basic computer literacy and the ability to interpret technical documents.
  • A strong interest in technical systems, workshop tools, and machinery.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on, tool-based work.
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning, teamwork, and safety protocols.
