TFG (The Foschini Group) is offering a unique opportunity for a passionate and driven individual to join our team as a YES Intern in Facility Management. As part of our commitment to youth development and empowerment, this internship is designed to provide hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of facilities operations within a leading retail group.
About the Role
As a Facility Management Intern, you will work closely with our maintenance team to support the smooth functioning of our facilities. You will assist with implementing effective maintenance strategies, coordinating service providers, and conducting inspections to ensure our retail and office spaces remain in excellent condition. This is an exciting opportunity to gain practical experience and learn from industry professionals in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing the maintenance department to ensure seamless daily operations
- Help implement strategies aimed at optimizing equipment performance and reducing downtime
- Support coordination with external suppliers and contractors for repair and maintenance services
- Conduct regular inspections and report on identified maintenance needs
- Assist with scheduling and assigning tasks to maintenance service providers
- Collaborate with internal departments to streamline and improve facility processes
Qualifications and Experience:
- A qualification in Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field is beneficial
- A basic understanding of electrical systems and maintenance procedures
- A strong willingness to learn and develop within the field of facility management
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Availability for standby duties and after-hours callouts
- Willingness and ability to travel when required
