York Timbers Is Hiring: 2025/26 Apprenticeship Opportunities in Electrical and Millwright Trades
York Timbers, in partnership with FP&M SETA and Future Perfect Skills Development, is inviting unemployed young South Africans to apply for its 2025/26 Apprenticeship Programme. Two positions are available at NQF Level 4, covering the Electrical and Millwright trades. This is a structured, hands-on programme designed to equip candidates with the practical skills and trade theory needed to thrive in the forestry and timber manufacturing industry.

Available Apprenticeship Positions
Two apprenticeship positions are on offer for the 2025/26 cycle. The Electrical Apprenticeship will place candidates in a structured trade training environment where they will develop competency in electrical systems, installation, and maintenance within an industrial setting. The Millwright Apprenticeship will give candidates exposure to the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical plant equipment, a trade that is highly valued across manufacturing and processing industries. Both positions offer practical, workplace-based training that complements formal trade theory and leads to a recognised NQF Level 4 qualification.
Who Should Apply
York Timbers is looking for motivated, unemployed individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 who are South African citizens. Applicants must have completed Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science, and must hold an NCV or N2/N3 certificate with relevant trade theory in the discipline they are applying for. Importantly, only candidates residing in the Roodekop surrounding area will be considered for these positions.

Applicants must submit a cover letter clearly stating the trade they are applying for and their reasons for wishing to participate in the programme, along with an updated CV, a certified copy of their ID document, certified copies of all qualifications, a certified copy of their matric certificate, and proof of residence. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
