Are you a passionate matriculant or university student dreaming of a career in engineering and technology? The Siemens Bursary Scheme could be your gateway to turning those dreams into reality.
Why Siemens?
For over 175 years, Siemens has been at the forefront of engineering innovation, driving progress in electrification, automation, and digitalization. As a global technology powerhouse, Siemens isn’t just offering financial support—they’re investing in the future leaders who will shape South Africa’s technological landscape.
What’s On Offer?
The Siemens Bursary Scheme provides comprehensive funding for higher education to academically strong students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. This isn’t just about money; it’s about empowering you to reach your full potential and build an exciting career in cutting-edge technology fields.
Qualifying Fields of Study
Siemens supports students pursuing critical, scarce-skills qualifications including:
- BSc/B.Eng. Electrical Engineering (Heavy and Light Current)
- BSc/B.Eng. Electronic Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering: Technology
- B.Eng. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Mechatronics)
- Bachelor in Computer Science and Information Technology
Who Can Apply?
For Matriculants:
If you’ve just completed Grade 12, you’ll need Level 5 or above in English, Pure Maths, and Physical Science. You must be an unemployed South African citizen between 18 and 25 years old, and not receiving any other funding like NSFAS.
For University Students:
Current university students need a minimum academic average of 65% and must be studying full-time at a locally recognized institution in one of the specified fields. Again, you cannot be receiving other bursary funding.
How to Apply
The application process is straightforward. Prepare the following documents:
- A compelling motivation letter explaining why you want to join Siemens
- Your curriculum vitae
- ID document
- Academic records (Grade 11 and 12 results for matriculants, or full tertiary academic record for university students)
- University acceptance letter
If you meet the academic criteria, Siemens recruiters will contact you for a virtual video interview. Successful candidates will receive bursary funding for their specific year of study.
What Makes This Opportunity Special?
Siemens doesn’t just want students who excel academically—they’re looking for game changers, trendsetters, and innovators who share their values and commitment to building a better future. They want people who are passionate about making a real difference in South Africa’s engineering and technology sectors.
Take the Next Step
Before applying, research Siemens thoroughly and understand why you want to be part of their story. They value candidates who embrace different perspectives, challenge conventions, and aren’t afraid to lead change rather than simply react to it.
Don’t let this opportunity pass you by. If you’re ready to step up and make a difference, the Siemens Bursary Scheme is waiting for you. Your engineering adventure starts here.
